Solar Installation in Scottsdale

Scottsdale gets roughly 299 sunny days a year, about 45% more than the national average. That makes an owned solar system one of the strongest returns available to a Valley homeowner.

Why Scottsdale

One of the best solar markets in the country

With near year-round sunshine, homes and businesses here generate consistent output, which reduces dependence on the grid and lowers monthly electric bills. Owned solar also tends to raise property value, and homes with it frequently sell for more than comparable homes without.

  • Lower monthly electric bills from day one
  • Increased property value at resale
  • Reduced carbon emissions
  • Arizona state credit and tax exemptions still available

FAQ

Scottsdale Solar Questions

How much does residential solar installation in Scottsdale cost?

A typical 5 kW system runs around $10,000 before any incentives, though the right size for your home depends on your usage, roof space, and whether you add battery storage. We quote every system individually after a site evaluation.

How long does the installation process take?

The physical installation usually takes one to two days. The full process including permits, inspection, and utility connection generally runs four to eight weeks.

What incentives are available for Scottsdale residents?

Arizona's Residential Solar Energy Credit is worth 25% of system cost up to $1,000, and the state's solar equipment sales tax exemption and energy equipment property tax exemption both still apply. Note that the 30% federal residential credit ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025, so it is no longer available on a new residential install. Commercial systems are treated differently, and we can walk you through what applies to your project.

Will solar panels work on cloudy days?

Yes, though at reduced efficiency. Given how many clear days Scottsdale gets, year-round performance stays strong.

Can I finance my solar installation?

Yes. We offer financing options, including $0-down structures, to make going solar workable for most budgets.

Do I need battery storage with my panels?

It is not required. A battery lets you store excess production for nighttime use and outages, which increases your energy independence. Without one, excess production flows back to the grid for a credit under your utility export rate.

Can I add more panels later?

Usually yes, provided you have the roof space and your inverter supports the expansion. It is worth mentioning any expected growth in your energy needs during the design phase.
